The Call for Makers is open, and unlike previous years, this time around we are offering a Maker Grant.
Toward the end of the summer, a limited number of Maker Grants totaling up to $1,000 each will be awarded to applicants who create high quality, highly interactive and engaging exhibits. Funds from the grant will provide Makers with the ability to make their exhibits more interactive for attendees of the Faire, with the hope of creating an even more engaging and memorable experience for all involved.
Makers will be asked to describe how the grant funds will be used to make the Faire more engaging for attendees and what the grant will allow them to do with their project that would not be possible without it. Applicants will also need to provide an estimated budget breakdown for all expenses they foresee incurring with the grant. The grant can be used for any materials or labor required in the execution of the exhibit.
All approved exhibitors will receive a link via email to apply for Maker Grants. Applications for Maker Grants are due by Wednesday, July 12.
To participate in this year’s Mini Maker Faire, Makers can submit proposals for a booth or exhibitor presence, a workshop, and a presentation – apply here: Call for Makers. Application closes on July 1.
There’s also opportunity to sponsor the Maker Grant. As a sponsor of the Maker Grant, you will enable a Maker to purchase materials and organize hands-on activities and workshops, thus creating better attendee engagement. Maker grant sponsors will be displayed at the booths of respective recipients. Learn more about how to sponsor the Maker Grant here: Become a Sponsor.
